New Media Literacies

I've been thinking about what "media literacy" means to us now. The internet and World Wide Web is changing the way we think, learn, and interact with each other on a global scale. When it comes to notions of a global culture of "peace," media literacy takes on a whole new meaning: we are not just consumers of media, we produce it as well. And producing media gives us power.

Think about it: every time you connect with someone online, or produce something online (like a blog), you are expressing your creative freedom. Now, imagine a global society that connects, shares, and believes that peace and sustainability are important values! This certainly influences our society!
